Terms and Conditions of Participation

  1. Participation of authors should be voluntary and is free of charge. 
  2. Registration is required of authors as an expression of interest to participate in the award competition.
  3. The case study should relate to use of any Prontosan® Wound products for wound bed preparation within the approved indications of use. This competition is not intended to, and shall not, promote or otherwise encourage unapproved, uncleared use of products or any product for unapproved new use. Products mentioned may not be registered and approved for sale in all countries or regions. Indications of use may also vary by country and region. Please contact your country representative for product availability and information.
  4. The institution and authors are in no obligation to purchase, recommend or in any way endorse any of the organiser's products arising from the participation in this case sharing award.
  5. Recruitment of subjects would be done solely by the authors and subject anonymity should be maintained. Subjects should only be included in the case sharing where the use of wound care products is determined on purely medical grounds.
  6. Case studies must be new within the award year and comply to the Conditions of Abstract Submission outlined. Please note that abstracts must be SUBMITTED before the deadline to be reviewed for inclusion in the award.
  7. All resources for the compilation of the case sharing will be borne by the authors, team members and institution. 
  8. Authors are responsible to ensure that all studies are performed with respect to national legislation, international legislation, and ethical guidelines with regards to both humans and animals.
  9. A minimum duration of 4 weeks is required in the wound management of the subjects for the purpose of this competition. Subjects' wound management follow up includes discharge planning (when applicable) and wound management at home to ensure a minimum care plan of 4 weeks.
  10. All communication and correspondence need to be in English.
  11. All correspondence is via email. As such, it is the author's responsibility to ensure that a valid email address is entered at registration and monitored to ensure emails from myecsa@bbraun.com are not missed.
  12. By registering, authors agree to the Privacy Policy, as well as the storage of personal data and sharing of information with the independent expert panel and Asia Pacific Aesculap Academy (organiser) and B. Braun Melsungen AG. 
  13. By submitting an abstract, authors agree to be bound by all of the Terms and Conditions set forth herein.
  14. The independent expert panel and organiser are entitled to make modifications to the award programme or cancel it at anytime (even at short notice) for reasons that affect the design of the programme, such as the inability to meet the minimum number of entries or changes to conditions that are essential to the programme. The independent expert panel and organiser will not be held responsible or liable in any way for any claims, damages, losses, expenses, costs or liabilities under any circumstance.
  15. The Florence Nightingale Excellence Award is an award to recognise wound management by individual or teams of registered nurse/s in which the nurse/s is the abstract submitter and presenter at the Grand Final.
  16. The Hippocratic Excellence Award is an award to recognise wound management by individual or teams of doctor/s in which the doctor/s is the abstract submitter and presenter at the Grand Final.
  17. The independent expert panel's decision on finalists and winners is final, following the objective and critical assessment of all entries. Finalists and winners will be notified by email.
  18. For participation involving authors from multiple institutions, authors must agree on the institution that should be receiving the monetary award.
  19. Photographs and recordings of authors would be done during each award year. By participating, authors consent to the use, distribution, exhibition and publication of photos and videos by the B.Braun Group in unchanged or modified (e.g. size, section) form, and possibly with their names.
  20. Authors may choose to withdraw from participating in the ECSA competition no later than 14 days after the abstract submission deadline.
